Day 122 – Sail the North Atlantic Ocean

Tim and I enjoyed our first of two sea days before our next stretch of ten port days in a row. That’s a lot of ports and a lot of excursions. We’ve been spoiled with regular sea days to rest and regroup, so we’ll just have to see how we do.

We began our day with a lecture by Dr. Caroline Malloy entitled "African Queens: The Lions of African History.” Caroline introduced us to true queens and amazing women who wielded power across North and West Africa.

The highlight of the day had to be the Easter Chocolate Buffet, which was decorated with large, fanciful Easter eggs made of sugar. Executive Pastry Chef Tushar outdid himself with a fabulous array of all types of desserts, most of which were chocolate. My favorite, however, happened to be the Egg Custard Tart with a Bird’s Nest Topping, which was almost identical to the delicious Portuguese tarts that I love.

I Loved the Eggs

When we returned to our room, the Easter bunny had already stopped by and left a basket of two Lindt chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs for us. I’m not sure how he found us at sea.
