Today was our last sea day before we arrive in Cabo Verde tomorrow. I had stayed up late last night and just managed to wake up in time to watch Laura Lovelock’s lecture on “Cape Verde Unveiled.” She provided us with a range of insights into this emerging Atlantic gem that we will visit during the next two days.

Cabo Verde Unveiled |
First up was the name. Is it Cape Verde or Cabo Verde? Although the country is commonly referred to as Cape Verde, we learned that the country is officially known as Cabo Verde. Cabo Verde is an archipelago of ten islands that truly was discovered by the Portuguese in 1456, since there was no native population on the island. Cabo Verde finally achieved its independence in 1975.
After a delicious bowl of butternut-anise soup at the Soup Station for lunch, I arrived for my second acupuncture appointment, which was virtually identical to the first. I don’t know yet if the treatment is helping my tremor, but I figured it was worth a shot, so to speak!
Late this afternoon, I finally achieved my goal of catching up on all my blog posts. To celebrate, I convinced Tim to join me at Manfredi’s for dinner. We both selected our favorite Insalate Caprese for the appetizer and an Encrusted Butter Poached Salmon with a Leek Fondue for the main course. For dessert, we split the Millefolie. It was an excellent meal.

A Very Delicious Meal |
Following my acupuncture treatment this afternoon, I had been instructed to drink a lot of water, which I did. Wine wasn’t mentioned, but I did enjoy a glass or two of Chilean Pinot Noir tonight.
What a great picture of you two! Love those smiling faces.
