After a full day yesterday, today was a much more relaxing day at sea. After breakfast, I took my laptop to the Living Room to work on the blog. Although I sat in a back corner, I didn’t manage to get much accomplished, but I enjoyed the distraction much more than the writing.
While I was typing, a young woman sat down at the table next to me to enjoy a cappuccino and croissant. We started to chat, and I learned that she was with Viking. As it so happened, she turned out to be the Cruise Director for the upcoming World Cruise on Viking Neptune. We had a lovely conversation, and I learned a few more tips about world cruises.
Since I had enjoyed the earlier lecture on the Bayeux Tapestry, I decided to take the “staircase tour” this afternoon. Various panels of the tapestry line the two staircases on the ship, and our resident historian regaled us with the stories depicted on each one. Dr. Fuller is a great storyteller, and he involved the passengers throughout, assigning roles to many of us. His presentation made the tapestry come to life and was a fun way to spend some time.

Although the morning was dark and gloomy, we welcomed blue skies by the afternoon. We even caught the end of a rainbow.

Another reception was on the agenda for the evening, this time a Cruise Critic Meet and Greet. Although I don’t post often, I have been following the forums on Cruise Critic for a while now. One of the members had arranged with Viking to host a get-together, and it was fun to put faces with people’s “handles.”
