Today, we are sailing the Irish Sea, our only sea day as we explore the British Isles. After sleeping late, Tim and I treated ourselves to several goodies from the Éclair Station, a special event prepared by Chef Alastair and his wonderful culinary team. Several of the team members even decided to ham it up for the camera. They’re such talented and friendly chefs.

Everyone who had sailed with Viking in the past was invited to an afternoon reception in the Atrium, where we marked the occasion with a toast. Cruise Director Cornelia, Assistant Cruise Director Patricia, and the Viking Sky Vocalists entertained us, and we met a few of the passengers who had joined us in London.

We stuck with old friends for dinner, however, and joined Heather and Jim at Manfredi’s to celebrate Nancy’s birthday. We had such a good time, laughed constantly, and became a bit rowdy after a few glasses of wine. Since passengers often select Manfredi’s for a nice quiet dinner, I felt obligated to stop by every neighboring table and apologize for our being so loud. Everyone told me not to worry. They smiled and seemed to be happy for us.
