Day 50 – Sail the Australian Coast

After two jam-packed days in and around Sydney, a sea day was quite welcome. Some potential cruisers are hesitant about too many sea days on an itinerary, but for Tim and me, they provide a needed break after multiple days of excursions. I may not have needed as much, or any, downtime when I was younger, but I certainly do now!

Tim and I started the morning with another excellent lecture by Dr. Babcock, “History of Australia – 1851 to the Present.” After his two lectures, I now have a much better understanding of Australia’s history.

My goal for today was to try and finish the two blog posts for Sydney, in between a nap or two. Processing photos for motorcoach excursions is always a challenge for me due to the reflections from the windows. Today, the photo galleries on my phone and laptop were not playing nicely together, and I spent most of the day trying to figure things out.

I was so frustrated, yet determined, that I even skipped dinner, since I was so close to a solution. And, I succeeded! Well, I succeeded in posting only the blog for our first day in Sydney, but I was happy with that minor accomplishment.

While writing this post on February 9, I was also checking my email and found the loveliest comment about that post. This is what I read:

Today's blog was the best. Your pictures were wonderful and the descriptions of all that you experienced made me feel as though I was in the motor coach and at the Opera House with you. I look forward to each and every posting. Thank you for taking me along on your journey.

That comment made my day and made my effort to process those photos worth it. Thank you.
