Today, we are sailing the Pacific Ocean. Unlike on the World Cruise, when we turned north after transiting the Panama Canal, Viking Octantis headed south as we make our way along the west coast of South America. From now on, everything will be new to Tim and me, and we are very excited to finally explore parts of this continent, as well as Antarctica.
It was finally time to complete a few chores, and I managed to finish a load of laundry. That should last us another week.
We had a wonderful surprise as we entered the World CafĂ© for lunch. I looked up and saw a familiar face – Nagesh, my favorite head waiter from our Mediterranean Explorer and Crossing cruise in 2023. It really is special to see familiar faces from past cruises.

Chef Beni had another special treat for us at lunch – a Crepes Suzette station. That was a treat!

In the afternoon, Tim and I attended another lecture by Matias. His topic this time was “Ecuador – A Brief History.” Since we will be visiting Ecuador tomorrow, I wanted to get an overview of this country’s past.
