Day 167 – Reykjavik, Iceland

The weather had improved slightly by the time Tim and I went to breakfast, but neither one of us was interested in venturing out on one of the tours that the Viking Shore Excursion team had arranged for us. It would have been nice to see Reykjavik, but I knew I wouldn’t have enjoyed myself in the cold and wind.

Luckily, Tim and I had spent some time in the city when we were here four years ago.

The View from Our Stateroom Was Better Today, but I Still Refused to Open the Door!

Instead, I remained on the ship, with most of the other passengers, and relaxed for much of the day. I finished several blog posts, and I’m almost caught up. Perhaps I’ll finish the remaining posts tomorrow while we’re at sea.

Although I failed to get any photos, Tim and I attended the Local Fish Grill that Executive Chef Alastair and his team prepared for us this evening. The chefs presented a showcase of fresh Icelandic fish including Red Fish, Cusk, Cod, Chilean Seabass, and Icelandic Salmon, as well as a traditional Icelandic fish stew. I think I tried a small portion of each one, except the stew, and every one was so fresh and delicious.

We set sail at 8:00 pm, and the seas were not nearly as rough as expected.
